PresbyYouth Wednesday Night

A night to CONNECT, SERVE, and GROW, as students have a meal, play games, hang out, share a message, and finish with High School and Middle School LifeGroups.

Each week this year, we'll pair Scripture and a Bible story with something a little unexpected: a children's book.

We hope that for an hour on Wednesday nights, we can pause some of the chaos of our children's lives. We can put down the expectations of being a middle or high school student and remember some of the simple joys of being a kid.  We want to see our kids being curious, asking questions, laughing, playing, imagining, wondering, and trusting.

Week 3: Ask Why

God isn't afraid of our questions.

Verse: Jeremiah 33:3
Bible Story: Nicodemus Comes to Jesus at Night — John 3:1–21
Book: What Do You Do With an Idea? by Kobi Yamada

We'll begin asking some of the questions that become more complicated as kids grow older:

Why does God allow suffering? Why do we pray? Why does God sometimes seem quiet? Is it okay to doubt? Can asking questions actually make our faith stronger?

We want our kids to know that church is a safe place to ask those questions. Faith does not require them to pretend they understand everything. Wonder grows through honest questions.
