Sunday Worship

Sunday morning worship at First Presbyterian Church blends traditional and contemporary musical elements within the Service for the Lord's Day.  You can expect four phases of worship within the hour:

Gathering as the community assembles in God's presence.  This phase includes the Call to Worship, hymns of praise, special music, a prayer of confession, assurance of pardon, and exchanging the peace with each other.
The Word -  the prayer for illumination, a time for the children, scripture readings, the sermon, an affirmation of faith (like the Apostles' or Nicene Creed), and the prayers of the people.
The Lord's Supper -  The offering is collected and presented, followed by the invitation to the table, the Great Thanksgiving, the Lord's Prayer, and the sharing of the bread and cup. At FPC, we believe that all are welcome at the Lord's table for Holy Communion. We practice Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
Sending -  The congregation is commissioned to service in the world, through song, a charge, and a blessing
